Annette’s belief in the power of dreams is absolute. It dominates the story of her own stellar career and is the inspiration behind Elicit: The Dream Catching Academy, which she set up to help young girls to change their lives by dreaming big.

“Not all of us even had a dream when we were young, let alone realise we could create a path to make a dream come true. That’s why I wanted to start up Elicit, to help more kids to that moment when they could say... hey, there is a different way...I can create a dream for me...I can create a different life.” Annette Presley

The academy runs a programme for Year 10 girls selected from schools around New Zealand.  From the moment they are involved with the Dream Academy, the girls are dared to dream big dreams. They are encouraged to cast off personal limitations made for themselves or by other people and learn instead that dreams can become real life goals and no dream is ever too big.

The girls hear real life stories of big dreams becoming reality from speakers who tell their own stories of the challenges they faced, their successes and failures, risks they took, mistakes they made and what they learned along the way.

The programme extends into schools with Dream Board sessions being run by Elicit facilitators, reinforcing the value of vision boards and giving them practical tips on changing their paradigm and realising their dreams.

‘Elicit changes lives because it helps the girls and their teachers to see possibilities they never imagined. It also shows how you can change your own life, and also change the lives of others.’ Annette Presley
